The Egyptian sector of energy in numbers

The Egyptian sector of energy is one of the important and pioneers sectors for the development of the egyptian economy as shown by the following numbers :

       -- 102, number of oil agreements concluded during the last seven years.

       -- 10,6 billion dollars, value of Egyptian exports of oil and natural gas during the fiscal year 2005/2006.

       -- 305 million dollars, Egyptian exports of brut and petroleum products in June 2006.

       -- 6,8 billion dollars savings since the price of natural gas in petroleum agreements has been changed in 2000.

       -- 11,5 billion dollars, estimatations of egyptian oil revenues Egypt by the end of 2006.

       -- 13 billion EGP, turnover of the egyptian oil companies abroad during the last four years, including seven billion EGP have been realized only in 2006.

       -- 20 billion dollars worth of petroleum products and natural gas provided by the Egyptian oil sector to meet the needs local market.

       -- Five trillion cubic feet (f3) / year, the average volume of LNG (liquefied natural gas) achieved during the past six years.

       -- 1,9 trillion f3, volume of local consumption and exports of natural gas in 2005/2006.

       -- Eight, number of the giant petrochemical projects implemented with investment of 5,3 billion dollars.

       -- Six, the world-ranking of Egypt in regard of the added value of research and prospecting.

       -- 67 trillion f3, confermed volume of egyptian reserves on natural gas.

       -- 125 trillion f3, estimated volume of egyptian reserves on natural gas.

       -- 5,6 billion f3/year, volume of egyptian production of natural gas.

       -- 13 million metric tons, volume of egyptian production of LNG.
